3D models,
2D drawings,
reverse engineering.

One engineer with over 35 years of experience in mechanical design. From a sketch or an existing part to CAD files ready for production.

About

One engineer. Direct contact. Drawings that add up.

Fisocad is an independent mechanical design and engineering practice. You work directly with the engineer who draws your model. No layers in between, no offshore handoffs, no sales talk.

With over 35 years of hands-on experience in metalworking, machine building and industrial installations, Filip delivers technical clarity you can build on. Every project starts with a personal conversation about your part: what it has to do, in what context and within which constraints. Communication in Dutch, French, English or Spanish.

Services

Three disciplines.
One workflow.

Whether you are designing from scratch, digitizing an existing part or you need production drawings: everything runs through a single point of contact, with one person accountable.

01

Mechanical design and engineering

Concept design, machine parts, trailer building, vehicle bodywork, stairs and platforms, and sheet metal work. Built parametrically, easy to revise, always aimed at production.

  • Concept and feasibility study
  • Parametric assemblies
  • BOM and production output
  • Iterations with the shop floor

02

3D modeling and 2D drafting

From a sketch, a photo or an existing PDF to clean 3D models and production drawings that meet the standards. STEP, IGES, STL, PDF, DWG, DXF: everything can be delivered natively.

  • SolidWorks · Inventor · Fusion 360
  • Drawings compliant with EN ISO
  • Render ready models
  • Versioning and revision control

Reverse engineering and 3D scanning

An existing part with no drawing? We scan it, align it and rebuild it into a clean, parametric CAD model.

  • Structured light and laser scanning
  • Mesh cleanup and alignment
  • Surface or solid rebuild
  • Tolerance report included

Process

Four steps. No surprises.

  1. Filip Soetaert inspecting and measuring an existing metal part with a caliper during intake

A short conversation about the part: what it has to do, in what context and within which constraints. If you prefer, we visit you on site.

    • Clarifying the function and the constraints
    • Reviewing existing material (sketch, photo, old drawing)
    • Agreeing on deadline and scope
  2. Filip Soetaert noting down measurements and specifications in preparation for the quote

A transparent quote: fixed price or time and materials, with a realistic deadline and no hidden costs. NDA on request.

    • Fixed price per work package, or time and materials
    • A firm deadline, not a loose estimate
    • NDA possible before any technical details are shared
  3. Filip Soetaert modeling and reviewing a 3D CAD model of a structure on his laptop

You receive interim renders and STEP files for validation, so we can make adjustments together before a single part goes into production.

    • Iterative milestones with visual checks
    • STEP export for independent validation
    • Adjustments before production, not after
  4. Filip Soetaert presenting the finished 3D model on a large screen at delivery

Native files (SLDPRT, IPT, F3D), neutral formats (STEP, IGES, STL) and 2D drawings. Full ownership stays with you.

    • Native and neutral formats together
    • 2D drawings, BOM and assembly instructions
    • Full ownership with you, not with us
